Birthday Trip to Canada - The Pyramids of Edmonton (Muttart Observatory)

For our third day in Edmonton, we started with lunch at the Muttart Observatory. Each of the glass pyramids has a different climate for a botanical garden.

This little guy and all his friends live in the terrarium between the pyramids.

 

 

 

 

PYRAMID 1: TROPICAL

This plant is related to a bird of paradise - Mike's favorite flower. It was just a few inches shorter than Mike when it was planted in 2016. Happy plant!

Mike was looking forward to this one after all the humidity in the other greenhouses...
 

PYRAMID 3: ARID

After the observatory, we took the long way round back to the hotel... in part to explore, and in part because there is construction everywhere. They are busy building new train lines.
