I was setting up the cushion under the nest just in case the babies fell out... laughed when I heard wings over my head. Glad I am no longer a threat.... or I am so slow about
cushion placement that she gave up on waiting.

The Say's Phoebe fledged differently than the Swallows. The Swallows would fall to the cushion, sit there dazed for an hour or two while their parents yelled at them for not being in a safe spot,
would fly to the porch railing, and then eventually yield to their parents' wishes and fly to a nearby roof. The Say's Phoebe were no-nonsense fledgers. They hung on the side of the nest and then just flew off.
I almost missed it! Here are 2 of the 4 heading out.
