My mom spent some time with her father's family in Italy when she was young. Here's a picture of her:
These pictures are from Ti Ricordi in Rome. From left to right: Zio Gino's mother, my mom, her uncle (Zio Gino, who was her father's brother), and a
friend of his who spoke English. (Zio Gino did not speak English, so he brought a friend to help translate until my mom could learn to be more fluent in Italian.
She did become fluent very quickly, and her mom was always proud that she "speaks the Italian so beautifully".)
