Treeless

In a recent wind storm, one of the sickly aspens out fron was left headless:

So, we decided to take them both down. Mike's dad brought his chain saw over, and they were down in a jiffy. Here's the first look at the yard with the wood still in the driveway. You can see that our front island is not actually treeless - the wild baby Blue Spruce is still doing fine. (but Blue Spruce take a long long time to grow.)


After we loaded everything (including some leftover concrete pieces from the wall and branches from our neighbor's tree) into the blue truck:


And finally all cleaned up:


The front yard looks very different!

The good news is we still have a healthy pine tree in the back yard (the pinion pine we planted in April):

and our lily looks very pretty this year:
