Here's what Mike has been busy on - getting the former kitchen cabinets installed in his workshop! Step 1 was to create a pedastal for the cabinets so
the counters can be at what I call "Mike height". Later, he is going to borrow his dad's truck to go get pre-fab laminate counters from Lowe's.
here's a picture Mike got of Chloe playing in the empty kitchen drawers earlier this week

hey - a weekend off! I have just a little bit of work to do from home today, but the rest of the weekend is all fun stuff -
Daniel's first bday party, finish writing cards, 3 gifts left to buy, wrap gifts, and look for a chest freezer to put our 1/4 cow in.
Mike submitted the order for the 1/4 cow Eric J reserved for us on Thursday.

so nice to have a few hours to myself. some help has finally arrived for our poor bedraggled team at work. :>)
I am doing some baking since I have eggs leftover from Thanksgiving and need to find something to do with them.
(shhh..that might just always be my excuse for baking. brownies and gingerbread headed to work tomorrow)

Thanksgiving went very well - great food (thanks Nancy, Gwenn and Terry!) and a very nice visit with my fam. Tonight, let the Black Friday festivities begin!

about to start making low sodium turkey chili for my bro. no cans, no mixes because that stuff has too much salt for his medical diet....
that means I have a lot of chopping ahead of me :>o peppers, tomatoes and onion - oh my! hands hurt just thinking about it, but he's worth the trouble. :>)

We enjoyed Jarl's dim sum bday party :>) , and now we're back to pre-visitor cleaning.
Mike is outside washing windows. (His little fuzzy helper is watching him from inside) I am almost done cleaning up from the turkey I made yesterday
and will soon be moving the cleaning parade to the basement guest bedroom/bathroom.

happy day off to me! After 3 60+ hour weeks in a row, it's great to be home. I'm playing catch up on laundry and cleaning before my fam comes to stay with us for Thanksgiving. :>)

working too much and now doing a poor job of fighting off a bug. hugs from my hubby and singing Flogging Molly are getting me through.
There's one song in particular -
"Factory Girls" from "Within a Mile from Home"...
"come day, go day. wish in my heart it was Sunday. drinking buttermilk all the week, and whiskey on a Sunday". Ironically, the song cheers me up but I'm in no shape this Sunday to drink whiskey. ;>)

Leaf cleanup in the front yard is done and the roomba is busy vacuuming. He is under close surveillance by the very cat he is trying to clean up after....
