Our niece, Maddie's, birthday party was held at the local rec center in Arvada. The times are a changing - she's got a number of friends
from school who were there. We were part of a small group of family members who also attended.
I got to use the bathing suit I had bought for Alaska for a second time! (I don't go swimming often.) Here's a picture Mike got after my first time going
down a water slide with a tube. It was fun! I was a mess trying to get started. The lifeguard finally looked at me and said "You're ok. Just like that." "Really?" (of course, I didn't believe him) ...
fuss, fuss, reposition. Then, off I went! It was a pretty cool little slide, and it included a dark tunnel right before you came shooting out into the pool. You can tell I am holding on for dear life....

Valerie (our younger niece) has much more experience with water slides...

We had dinner in a party room next to the pool area.

The theme for this year was puppies!

Rob set up the food:

Grandma Kitty and Auntie Linda were heading off to Clara's birthday party, so Maddie opened her gift from them.

That's Maddie's "I found a gift card" face:
