Valentine's Day
Golden, Colorado: February 14, 2009

This year, for Valentine's Day, we had dinner at home - steaks, bread, salad, and wine.

In the background of this picture, you can see that our living room has changed - we bought a new TV just before Christmas!

Here's the balloon from Safeway with the nifty balloon weight (flexible wire):

After dinner, we went to see a play at the Miners Alley Playhouse in Golden to see a play called "Shining City". Here we are in the lobby before the show:

The first half of the play was really good. It was a 1-set play in a small theater, which was a treat. We had a little area on the side all to ourselves. The setting was a psychiatrist's office. The psychiatrist had his own set of problems and was being visited by a man who recently lost his wife in an auto accident. The man was having trouble sleeping in their house because he had been visited twice by his wife's ghost, and the plot led through the incidents and disagreements in the days and weeks before her death, his guilty conscience, how they had drifted apart, and so forth. Okay, maybe next year if we find a play to see for Valentine's Day, we'll try to find something that isn't so much of a downer! Nevertheless, we really enjoyed it. The acting was believable and the production worked really well.
